|*Antique and Vintage Glassware*
Please note that glassware made by hand in factories in the early 1900s-1930s is very different from our modern glassware. Antique glass has a lighter weight due to the formula and is more fragile. So it is amazing that antique and vintage glass have survived 80 - 100 years of use.
I've developed such an admiration for the men and women who created such gorgeous Art Glass, especially Carnival Glass. Most if not all of the glass was blown either into molds or shaped by hand. They were true artisans of their craft.
That being said it is also true that many pieces have noticeable imperfections such as raised seams, tool marks, uneven edge work or base work, tiny air bubbles trapped within the glass and straw marks (stress marks). All of these things are considered manufacturer flaws and they do not necessarily lessen the value or beauty of a piece. However, chips, cracks and nicks, if deep enough to weaken the structural integrity of a piece, can lessen the value.
*Antique and Vintage Pottery:
Pottery also have manufacturer flaws such stilt marks, kiln kiss, glaze pops and glaze skips.
*Handling and Documenting*
All of my Glass and Pottery pieces are carefully hand washed by me before I photograph them for listing. This way you and I can see any flaws if they exists. I promise to honestly and accurately describe the condition of each item in my shop to the best of my abilities. All manufacturer flaws and any damage will be disclosed.
I'm very limited in the amount of photos I can download in a listing so if you would like to view more detailed photos of a described imperfection please contact me through eBay's Message and I will be happy to send more pictures to serious Buyers.
I will description the items' condition as accurately and as detailed as possible. My responsibility is to give you the facts; I leave it up to you to decide whether a piece is in "Very Good", "Good" or "Fair" condition by your own standards.
*Packing and Shipping*
All Glassware and Pottery will be carefully packed when shipped to ensure its safe arrival to you. I will insure some items as noted in their individual listings (usually pieces sold for $50+) and include the cost of insurance in the total shipping cost. If one of my listings does NOT include the cost of insurance, you as the Buyer can contact me as soon as possible (same day) to request that insurance be added. I will be happy to adjust the shipping cost accordingly.
